A combination of many environmental and internal factors can lead to skin that looks rough and uneven. Fraxel® Dual is a skin rejuvenating laser treatment that addresses a wide range of skin concerns to help you achieve youthful-looking skin with less downtime.Â
What is Fraxel® Dual Laser Skin Rejuvenation?
Fraxel® Dual is a type of skin rejuvenation that uses laser energy to trigger collagen formation and fade pigmentation issues. Fraxel® is a non-ablative laser that treats the surface of the skin to reveal healthy, youthful cells. It also triggers collagen production for long-lasting firmness and wrinkle reduction. Fraxel® Dual is popular among adults of all ages due to its ability to treat many different skin issues.Â
What is the Difference Between Fraxel® and Fraxel® Dual Laser?
Fraxel® Dual is an advanced version of the basic Fraxel® laser. The primary difference between the two is that Fraxel® Dual uses two laser wavelengths, while the basic Fraxel® only uses one. Fraxel® Dual uses a 1927nm wavelength to treat numerous pigmentation issues. It also uses a 1550nm wavelength to improve textural concerns such as lines, wrinkles, and acne scars.Â
The Fraxel® Dual is the most common type of Fraxel® laser found in practices. It has tremendous flexibility, allowing your Capital Laser & Skin Care provider to adjust the strength of each laser for a customized treatment. Most lasers use a single wavelength, limiting the number of skin issues they can treat.Â
What Can Fraxel® Dual Treat?
Because of its dual laser wavelengths, Fraxel® Dual can treat many different skin issues. We often recommend this laser for:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Skin laxity
- Acne scars
- Uneven skin tone
- Sun damage
- Enlarged pores
- Age spots
- Hyperpigmentation
Fraxel® Dual is one of our preferred treatments for smoothing acne scars, shrinking pores, and reducing signs of sun damage. It is also highly effective in triggering new collagen formation, leading to smoother, firmer skin.
Is There Any Downtime After Fraxel® Dual Laser Treatment?Â
You may notice that your skin looks red and feels sensitive after your Fraxel® Dual treatment. You will notice a sandpaper-like texture over the next few days as the treated layers of skin are exfoliated away. We will provide skincare products to use after treatment to help your skin recover quickly. Depending on the intensity of treatment, your skin is usually healed in four to five days.Â
Am I a Good Candidate for Fraxel® Skin Rejuvenation?
Fraxel® Dual is appropriate for healthy adults of any age. It is appropriate for skin types ranging from acne-prone to dry or rough. Ideal candidates want to address skin concerns such as acne scars, signs of aging, and pigmentation problems. You should not have a Fraxel® Dual treatment if you have a skin injury or active skin condition in the treatment area.
