What is Sofwave™ for Cellulite?
You might have heard of Sofwave™ for skin tightening. Now this powerful treatment is FDA-cleared to diminish the appearance of cellulite. It can treat uneven, dimpled skin on the buttocks, thighs, and other common cellulite locations. Research conducted during FDA testing showed that almost 90% of people had visible differences when assessed after treatment.
How Does Sofwave™ Work?
Sofwave™ is the only skin tightening system to use SUPERB™ (Synchronous Ultrasound Parallel Beam Technology). It directs ultrasound energy to a precise depth of 1.5mm, targeting the deeper layers of skin. Cells in these deep layers produce collagen, a critical protein that gives the skin structure and support.
Cellulite occurs when fat in the problem area bulges up between fibrous bands called septae. This uneven, dimpled appearance can become more obvious as we age. Loss of collagen makes the skin thinner and less elastic, causing bulges and dimples to become more visible. Sofwave™ works by triggering collagen development that restores skin’s firmness and tightness.
What is a Sofwave™ Treatment Like?
When you arrive for your Sofwave™ treatment, we will apply a numbing cream to your skin to prevent discomfort. With this treatment, you should feel minimal discomfort while receiving Sofwave™. You may feel warmth, but proprietary Sofcool™ technology protects your skin while targeting the deeper layers. If the treatment is uncomfortable for you, we can provide treatments to reduce discomfort. The length of treatment depends on the size of the area being treated but may range from 30 to 60 minutes or longer.
What Results Will I See With Sofwave™ for Cellulite?
You may start to notice a reduction in cellulite within a few weeks of treatment. Full results take about three months to develop. Your new skin-smoothing collagen will usually last at least a year. We recommend yearly maintenance treatments to keep collagen production at high levels. The entire treated area will look tighter and firmer, giving you a boost of confidence.
Am I a Good Candidate for Sofwave™?
Most healthy adults make good candidates for Sofwave™. This safe, non-invasive treatment can help almost anyone with cellulite. Ideal candidates have reasonable expectations and do not have an active skin condition in the treatment area. Only a consultation can determine whether you are a good candidate for Sofwave™. Is There Any Downtime With Sofwave™?
Sofwave™ requires no downtime, and you can return to your usual activities right away. Your skin may look flushed for a day or two, but this should not impact your daily routine. The Sofcool™ technology prevents the skin’s surface from overheating, resulting in no recovery time.
