Dysport InjectionsBotulinum Neuromodulator Injections Chevy Chase, Md & Washington, Dc

Dysport is a facial injection similar to Botox that temporarily paralyzes facial muscle contractions. As we age our skin loses elasticity and begins to wrinkle. Creases near the forehead and eyebrows deepen and become permanent after years of smiling, squinting, and frowning. Dysport is injected directly into the muscles that cause facial wrinkles, temporarily immobilizing them. The result is a more smooth, younger-looking skin.

How is Dysport Different From Botox?

Dysport diffuses slightly farther from the injection point than Botox: one to three centimeters compared to Botox’s one centimeter. This means that fewer injections are needed, but it also means that the doctor doing the injections must have experience with Dysport injections to ensure that the drug does not spread to nearby muscles and cause eyelid and or eyebrow drooping or other unwanted side effects.

Results from Dysport injections will appear within one to seven days after treatment. Dysport contains less protein than Botox, so the body tends to break it down more slowly and results can last slightly longer than Botox. The result is a more youthful face with fewer creases, lines, and wrinkles.
