Microneedling is a cosmetic technique designed to enhance your skin’s quality by causing microscopic wounds to skin cells, encouraging them to come back stronger. There was only one kind of microneedling available in the past, but today, there are many different types, each of which offers unique advantages.

Microneedling Types

Capital Laser & Skin Care offers a range of powerful microneedling techniques designed to enhance skin vibrancy and quality.

Traditional Microneedling

Traditional microneedling encourages collagen growth through controlled micro-trauma to the skin. The technique involves passing a needle-studded roller over the skin to injure the skin on a cellular scale. Far from harming them, this stress forces cells to switch to healing mode, repair damaged proteins, and increase collagen and elastin production. Thus, microneedling can help address a wide range of skin complaints, including fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, acne scars, and sun damage.

Microneedling with PRP

Microneedling with PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is a combination therapy designed to reverse hair loss in men and women as well as improve the healing properties of the skin naturally.

Researchers investigating PRP found that they could isolate platelets and their growth factors from the blood and inject it into specific sites around the body to energize cellular activity. Some therapists use it for accelerating healing and reducing joint pain. Interestingly, though, it also activates hair follicles, making it a powerful restorative hair technique. We can also place it on the skin following a traditional microneedling treatment to the face to enhance results and speed up cellular recovery.

RF Microneedling

Radiofrequency (RF) microneedling is a potent therapy that activates your skin’s latent rejuvenation potential via two independent channels. First, we pass the microneedling device over the skin, causing microscopic cellular injuries. Simultaneously, radiofrequency energy is delivered to heat deep dermal layers within the skin to encourage additional collagen production.. The dual approach encourages rejuvenation by treating all layers within the skin for a full top to bottom skin stimulation treatment.

Benefits of Microneedling

The benefits of microneedling are extraordinary. Here are some of the advantages that the therapy delivers:

  • Reduction in the appearance of scarring
  • A decrease in the appearance of pore size
  • Better skin tone and brightness
  • Non-surgical – continue with your regular schedule aftward
  • Cost-effective
  • Rapid treatments with little to no downtime

Am I a Candidate for Microneedling?

Microneedling is a safe and effective procedure. Because it is non-surgical, the vast majority of Capital Laser & Skin Care patients stand to benefit. Suitable candidates include those wanting more even skin tone, rejuvenation, or a reduction in visible scarring.

It is also a mechanical technique, which means that it is suitable for all skin types.
