In the past, people who wanted to treat pigmentation issues, textural concerns, and signs of aging needed different treatments for each problem. The advanced BBL® HERO™ addresses a wide range of skin concerns, and it has several other benefits over other treatments that make it one of our most effective skin rejuvenation options.
What is the BBL® HERO™ Laser?
Although it is most often referred to as a BBL laser, BBL® HERO™ is not actually a laser. While lasers use one (sometimes two) wavelengths of light that target specific issues, BroadBand Light (BBL) uses many different wavelengths simultaneously to treat many skin concerns. It is one of the only treatments that can address redness, dark spots, and many other concerns.
BBL® HERO™ is faster, more powerful, and uses more cooling power than other BBL systems for your comfort and best results. However, it achieves all this without increasing your downtime, making it our BBL laser treatment of choice.
What to Expect After BBL® HERO™ Laser Treatments?
The best part of BBL® HERO™ is what happens afterward. Most people love their clear, even-toned skin and long-lasting results.
Downtime
Because BBL® HERO™ does not cause injury to your skin, you can return to your usual activities immediately after treatment. While there is no downtime needed, these treatments make your skin very sun-sensitive, so sunscreen is a necessity.
Brown spots and other pigmentation may darken and rise to the surface for a few days after treatment before flaking away. Other pigments will fade over the next few weeks as your body removes the damaged pigment particles.
Results
We recommend two or more BBL® HERO™ sessions spaced a few weeks apart to see your best results. While you may see improvements in dark spots within a few weeks, full results develop over time as your skin produces new collagen.
Most people will benefit from annual maintenance sessions to see their results last indefinitely. We will work with you to develop the best schedule for your skin’s unique needs. BBL® HERO™ can be combined with other treatments to achieve even better results over time.
Am I a Candidate for BBL® HERO™ Laser Treatments?
Most people can enjoy the benefits of BBL® HERO™, especially those looking to treat a combination of pigmentation and textural problems. Good candidates have realistic expectations and are in generally good health. You should not have this treatment if you have certain medical conditions or are pregnant.
If you have significant signs of aging such as loose skin or severe textural issues like acne scars, your skincare expert may recommend a more intensive treatment such as the Fraxel Dual Laser for its skin-tightening properties.
