How to Prepare for RF Microneedling

- Limit sun exposure for several weeks before treatment
- Avoid medications that can increase bleeding, such as aspirin and ibuprofen
- Ask about any supplements you take
- Avoid the use of harsh or irritating products
- Take medications if they are prescribed to you
- Avoid alcohol or smoking
On the day of your treatment, wash your face with a gentle cleanser. Do not apply any products.
What is an RF Microneedling Treatment Like?
Most people find RF microneedling easy to tolerate. We offer numbing cream or nitrous oxide to help you stay relaxed and comfortable throughout the treatment. With numbing, you should feel nothing more than some mild tingling. Treatment usually takes between 30 and 60 minutes.
Is There Any Downtime After RF Microneedling?
You can return to your normal activities immediately after treatment. You may experience some redness and swelling, which should subside within a few days. You may also experience a sensation similar to a sunburn. Avoid sun exposure and wear sunscreen t to protect your skin as it heals. Your Capital Laser & Skin Care provider may recommend products that your skin can absorb particularly well after microneedling.
Am I a Good Candidate for RF Microneedling?
RF microneedling works safely on all skin types and tones. You may be a good candidate for the procedure if you have the following:
- Fine lines and wrinkles
- Acne scars
- Hyperpigmentation or uneven skin tone
- Loose or sagging skin
- Rough or uneven skin texture
You might not be a good candidate if you have certain medical conditions or tend to form keloids. RF microneedling is also not recommended if you are pregnant.
