Capital Laser & Skin Care offers CoolSculpting® to minimize unwanted pockets of fat in several different body parts. But how many CoolSculpting® sessions will you need for the best possible results? Find out more below.
What Is CoolSculpting®?
CoolSculpting®is a non-invasive and innovative treatment that freezes fat cells. The frozen fat cells then start to die off; the body metabolizes them, flushing them out over time. This treatment achieves gradual yet visible results in areas of unwanted fat, leaving a more contoured appearance to the treated body part.
Drs. Shah, Tanzi, and Peters use the CoolSculpting® applicator to target unwanted pockets of fat. The applicator gradually freezes the fat cells between -1 and -4 degrees Celsius to stimulate the body’s anti-inflammatory response. Part of that response is white blood cells consuming and carrying them to other parts of the body where they will be naturally processed out. The fat cells are not able to return, leaving long-lasting results.
How Many CoolSculpting® Sessions Will I Need?
While a single CoolSculpting® session can reduce fat volume by as much as 25% after one treatment, many people need a series of CoolSculpting® sessions for the optimal outcome. How many treatment sessions you need is dependent on where the treatment area is, such as under the chin may need only 1 or 2 treatments, while other larger areas may need more. Each treatment session is spread apart by at least 10 to 12 weeks.

Am I a Candidate For CoolSculpting®?
You may be a candidate for CoolSculpting® if you are within 20% of your goal body weight, diet, exercise regularly, and have grabbable body fat despite consistent diet and exercise.
Patients with rare conditions such as cryoglobulinemia, cold agglutinin disease, or paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria are not suitable candidates for CoolSculpting® and should seek alternative treatments.
