While your skincare routine can help keep your skin clear, even-toned, and smooth, you can see dramatically better results by adding one of two remarkably gentle treatments: DiamondGlow® and HydraFacial®. While both work to restore your skin’s healthy, hydrated glow, each may work better for different goals.
What are DiamondGlow® and HydraFacial®?
These two treatments are part of a new generation of skin-rejuvenating facials that address a wide range of mild to moderate skin concerns. Both are noninvasive and safe for all skin types, but your Capital Laser & Skin Care expert may recommend one or the other based on your needs. Both are three-step treatment processes that leave your skin deeply cleansed and hydrated with targeted serums.

DiamondGlow® vs. HydraFacial®: Which is Better?
Your skincare expert will recommend a treatment that works best for your skin. They have one primary difference that affects how we use them.
HydraFacial®
The HydraFacial® process begins with cleansing the skin, followed by a light chemical peel. This form of chemical exfoliation removes dull outer layers to refresh your skin. We typically recommend this treatment for those seeking to add to their skincare routine to maintain a bright, hydrated glow or improve minor concerns.
DiamondGlow®
This treatment uses manual exfoliation, which means it uses a highly customizable tip to buff away the dull, damaged outer layers. Because this exfoliation tends to work at a deeper level, we usually recommend DiamondGlow® for corrective uses, such as treating hyperpigmentation and early signs of aging.
While we may recommend one over the other for different people, both of these treatments can effectively improve skin concerns, including:
- Oily skin and acne
- Enlarged pores
- Dryness and dullness
- Hyperpigmentation
- Sun damage
- Fine lines
- Acne scars
We will discuss your goals and how quickly you hope to achieve them before helping you choose a treatment that fits your needs.
Is There Any Downtime After DiamondGlow® or HydraFacial®?
One reason people love these rejuvenating treatments is the ability to return to work or their usual routine immediately afterward. While there is no downtime, some people notice pinkness or flushing that can last up to an hour. Your skin will look healthy and hydrated right away, with other effects developing over a series of treatments.
How Often Should I Have DiamondGlow® or HydraFacial®?
While a single DiamondGlow® or HydraFacial® treatment can give your skin an immediate boost, your best results will emerge with regular sessions. The best schedule for you will depend on your age, skin type, and the skin concerns you want to treat. Many people achieve and maintain their best results with a treatment every four to six weeks, but your needs will vary.
